Our global partner, a leading financial services company, is looking for a

Windows Desktop Infrastructure Specialist

who will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the stability of over 180,000 desktops including laptops and virtual PCs.

The job:

  • We collaborate with internal teams (engineering, IT security, application developers, desk-side support) and third party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Our services include incident, problem and change management, drift management and we are responsible for the health of the PCs.
  • We distribute the core Windows build, manage security patches, support the software distribution platform, maintain PC configuration settings and provide reporting on the Windows environment.
  • We develop scripts and other forms of automation to solve problems within the enterprise desktop computing space. This includes creating and maintaining our own monitoring and reporting tools. The team provides global coverage for incidents 24/7 in a follow-the-sun model. Team members are required to cover for escalations on one weekend every few months.
  • General Infrastructure Support: Microsoft Windows operating system, VMware ESX, Citrix XenDesktop, OpenAFS, Tivoli Endpoint Manager (BigFix), SCCM, Splunk, AppSense Environment Manager and internally developed tools.
  • Productivity Application Support: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Lync, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe FlashPlayer, Silverlight and internally developed plug-ins for Microsoft Office.

The requirements:

  • BSc degree in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Windows PCs preferably at level 3.
  • General scripting experience required, PowerShell or VBScript preferred.
  • Diverse troubleshooting skills of system issues (event logs, GPResult, perfmon, process dumps).
  • General understanding of Active Directory (GPO, OU, Groups).
  • Experience in solving network issues (HTTP,DNS, DHCP protocols, TCP/IP stack with known ports and basic commands).
  • Remote troubleshooting skills (psexec, winrs, WMI, RPC).
  • Proficiency in creating documentation for end users and support personnel.
  • Self-starter with experience working in a project team environment.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with senior VIP clients for troubleshooting and explaining technical issues.

Windows Desktop Support Analyst

who will be responsible for supporting and ensuring the stability of over 180,000 desktops including laptops and virtual PCs.

The job:

  • Work in a global technology group that delivers the software and hardware technology solutions that make the businesses run. The team manages the production, operations, and engineering of the data centers, voice and data networking solutions, wireless technologies, server and database operations, desktops, servers and mainframes.
  • Provide service and support to internal teams and senior VIP clients on Windows Platform and desktop application-related issues. The role involves close cooperation with the Service Desk, desk side support teams, IT Security, Engineering, application programmers and third party vendors by handling escalations, providing documentation, and implementing new products.
  • Monitor trouble ticket queues for issues and respond promptly to them.
  • Perform troubleshooting and investigation of complex technical issues as escalated to us by the Service Desk and desk side support teams. The primary areas are Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office and web browsers.
  • Identify trends or issues within the production computing environment and work with product engineers, Microsoft, and other vendors to resolve them.
  • Perform change management duties, including creation, execution and validation of production changes.
  • Provide VIP support for senior executives.
  • Deployment and management of security patches.
  • Maintain and distribute the core Windows build.
  • Maintain and monitor overall PC health.
  • Support the software distribution and management processes, including packaging of applications and troubleshooting of software installation issues.
  • Maintain the software distribution infrastructure.
  • Test new and changed components being introduced into the Windows environment.
  • Participate in the engineering and deployment of global products.
  • Develop scripts and other forms of automation as necessary to efficiently solve problems within the enterprise desktop computing space.

The requirements:

  • BSc degree in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Virtualization technologies: VMware, XenServer, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix Presentation Server / XenApp Technology.
  • Experience operating BigFix and creating fixlets, AppSense Environment Manager.
  • Background in Enterprise management and experience working with System Center Control Manager (SCCM and/or SMS), Windows enterprise technologies , DFS, Active Directory.
  • Application Packaging using Windows Installer (.MSI) and SMS Installer.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server administration skills.
  • Programming experience with ASP.NET, C#.NET.
  • Kernel debugging skills.
  • Self-starter with experience working in a project team environment.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively with senior VIP clients for troubleshooting and explaining technical issues.

Test Environment Administrator

who will be responsible for customer projects in the banking sector.

The job:

  • Understand and follow established company’s testing environment maintenance processes and practices.
  • Build, know, document and maintain testing environments according to the current policies and procedures.
  • Know relevant company’s products and components and their testing environments.
  • If required, coordinate test environment construction and maintenance activities, both locally and remotely.
  • Perform automation of the maintenance activities where required.
  • Document and report test maintenance activities and evidences.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with testers as well as other Test Administrators and other departments in all work-related activities.
  • Ensure Test System application integrity and operability (incl. Information protection and security).
  • Contribute to development and documentation of policies, procedures and best practices for test environment maintenance
  • Conduct internal trainings for the testing team and other departments’ members about testing environments’ composition, specifics, maintenance practices etc as requested by the immediate superior
  • Fulfill other project delivery and test environment maintenance related duties as assigned by the immediate superior.

The requirements:

  • BSc degree in IT or equivalent experince.

  • Strong skills administering Windows based applications including IIS, Windows application maintenance, Windows services, Event log checking.
